TTP Turbos
Taking a break from work and daydreaming about these turbos at
www.t-t-p.de/english/986.php
Has anyone had these installed?
The phrasing of the translation of the script from German is pretty cool. "The desire for increased output remains nevertheless. We took care of the thing."
I hear that!

I've only talked to one guy who did this upgrade over at www.flat6.com. He had reliability issues as expected. The boxster 6 was never intended to see forced induction. My question is why do it? If you are going to plunk down that coinage why not get a 3.4 or 3.6L engine? I'd rather have 320hp naturally aspirated hp than 390 turboed ponies myself.

Hi,
I agree with you. I own/have owned several Turbo cars in my life (Lotus Esprit and Turbo Z). Aside from issues of Reliability, Access and Heat, the one thing about Turbos which I don't like is their schizophrenic nature. Your Car will have 2 personalities - On Boost / Off Boost. Can be very disconcerting at the Track or just when Rock N Rollin' - such as the Boost coming On in the Apex, or having to keep the Car in the Sweet Spot on the Tach to avoid falling out of the Power Band. The Driver commands a little less Control over the Car. NA makes for a more predictable, enjoyable ride...

Good points. I agree. I believe in cubic inches and normal aspiration too. Just curious if anyone has done it and what their experience has been. Jim's experience with the Lotus and Z car would hold true here too.
Actually, I have to let my checkbook cool off( a lot) before I do anything.
The 3.6 motor; is that just swapping out jugs, pistons and rods?? Or does it use a different lower crank assembly and block? I'm guessing the heads need to be reworked to flow better.
Just wondering...........

Think I found my answer on the 3.6 engine. It looks like you do have to swap out the crank but keep the same heads. depending on intake, exhaust and cams, it appears some builders are getting up to 360 hp.
