Exhaust insert to quite exhaust

So I recently installed the full exhaust system by ebay. Headers/test pipe/muffler, and its WAY TO LOUD, I'm not quite sure what the best route to take is to quiet this thing down. I've been poking around the interwebz and found exhaust inserts see below. Seems kinda ghetto but the reviews seem good and its a low impact install that doesn't add much weight. Does anyone have any experience with these sort of things or have a better alternative? I always seem to modify cars until I ruin them, its so easy to get carried away.

Cheers,

were you able to get noticeable "performance gain" with the exhaust?
if not, put back the factory exhaust.
my 01 box, when purchased came with BB muffler. when the muffler started to make rattling noise, got a "S" muffler on ebay.
quiet, no resonant noise at 3K and I could not notice any "performance" reduction.

You could try a balance pipe between the 2 boxes.

Muffler makes the biggest difference. Headers/Cats can't hold a candle up to the deadening impact of the muffler. You can still get a performance increase by having headers/test pipe with stock muffler. Never heard of the exhaust inserts, but seems interesting.
