How long should I go before changing my clutch?

My 01 base is at 108,000 km (68,000 miles).

I bought the car in '06 with 52,000 km (33,000 miles). I don't believe the clutch was done by the PO(s). (Why would they at such low miles?)

I'm not having any failing clutch symptoms, but I'm trying to decide how long I can put off the big $ (relative to the economic value of the car) to get the clutch and IMS done.

And whether the flywheel will be salvagable even if the clutch hasn't worn down too far. How long can the dual mass flywheels go before they don't spring back properly?

How many km/miles have you gone before getting the clutch done? Have you had to replace the flywheel?

Driving style has a lot to do with it-my original clutch began to slip badly at 88,000 miles-the flywheel was way out of spec so had to replace that as well-then you have to make your decision as to IMS bearing and rear main seal at that point-my rear main seal and IMS were in bad shape so be prepared to get that done at the same time most likely..my total cost at that time was 3400.00 dollars. But now I'm set for a good while and can enjoy the ride.

As OC said, it's a lot to do with driving style, or lack thereof.
My S had 75,000 km on it at purchase, admittedly not very high miles.
At IMSB replacement, my indie discovered a new clutch disc had been installed at some point before I bought it. I quickly deduced that the PO was a rather poor 3-pedal driver, hence the new clutch.
Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised that the clutch was new, and the pressure plate & flywheel got passing grades.
I'm at 84,000 km now, and so far, so good. I'm expecting this one will last for a long while.

82k and counting. Replace it when it starts slipping unless your flush with cash and feel like spending the money prematurely.

I found the Porsche clutch action got "heavy" long before it slipped or dragged.
This heavy or stiff feeling kind of creeps up on you and it's only when you feel a new clutch action that you realise that your's is worn...
After saying that, I replaced my stiff clutch @ 50,000 miles only to find it was only 50% worn.!!

I changed mine at 142,000 miles...and not b/c of the clutch, but because of the 2nd gear pop-out issue. Syncros were shot. FW was good and the clutch could have waited.
