NASA vs. SCCA

Hi Guys,
I have been racing on and off with NASA for a couple years and I keep hearing about SCCA , I was wondering if anyone (who knows both organizations pretty well) could give me a non-biased opinion about the differences between the 2 organizations.

In SoCal, the Porsche Owners Club (POC) is king for club racing. No wine. No cheese. No wine spritzers. Its all about Porsche's on the track.

Usually run w/NASA and before that BMWCCA.... Ran once with SCCA and found them to be very nitpicking with lots of little fiefdoms.... It's kind of like- Running with NASA is like Silicon Valley....just make it happen and running with SCCA was like going to the DMV.... (organizationally speaking)

For Autox, around these parts I used to avoid SCCA because they had by far the biggest turn out.
At some events I'd be luck to get six runs for that whole day committment. Meanwhile the Porsche club turn out was a pittance. 10 runs easily some days and we were done early. The other thing I noticed is that the SCCA regulars were real gear heads, not as wealthy as the BMW and Porsche clubs but they raced the wheels off whatever they could get into. The laptimes were always much much more competitive as well. Some events saw barely half a second separate first to seventh.
While the Porsche club could see several seconds between the same.
