Will 17 inch wheels work on 06 987?
I am buying an 06 987 from a friend and have a bunch of 17 inch track wheels. The car has 19 inch street wheels on it now. Can I run the 17's?

A base 987 had 17" wheels. The 987S had an 18" wheel. The optional 19" Carrera Classic wheel was also available.

So, I think you'll be OK if the offset is right and you use the proper tires (aspect ratio).
