2002 boxster S thump noise when changing gears

My 2002 boxster S 6 speed makes a thump noise when letting off throttle and pushing in clutch to shift gears 1-3, moderate to heavy acceleration. Everything else operates normal. Could this be a motor mount? Thanks for any suggestions you may have. Also looking for good Porsche mechanic in Los Angeles area.

I had this same problem and it was the motor mount. It was $700 for a Porsche mechanic to replace it.

Changing the motor mount is pretty straight forward if you can get the car on stands and have a jack to support the engine while the mount is swapped. Pedro has a good guide for this job.
About 2 hours if you take your time.

+1 should be very manageable to do as a DIY.
