There is an independant specialist in Dubai with an impressive facility with many high end vehicles in the lot which initially gave me confidence. However, they suggested they needed to spend 2 hours to "calibrate" the gearbox then do a road test. I have looked many times at varous forums and never come across this "calibration". They needed to book the car in as it was close to closing and the weekend so I left.

I then took to Dubai Porsche - with 40 mins to goto the weekend they brought the car in and hooked uo to the diagnostics.

Codes 70 - solenoid valve and 30 (or 30 something) gearbox temperature.

He suggested to delve into the box for an inspection for approx 4-5 hours labour and replace the fliud. The fluid was replaced just 5k ago so he suggested it could be saved and reused (nice approach).

His initial thoughts are the clutch pack are worn and towards the end of life. A replacement tip from porsche is out of reach cost wise.

Not sure what to do now - car has 156k Km. Drives really well, there is no physical indication of a tip failure, shifts smooth, responsive, operates from the wheel switched on demand etc.

Anybody any thoughts?

Thanks

Simon
