2005 Boxster radio removal

I have searched through the fourms and still cannot find help. Does anyone know how to remove the radio in a 2005 Boxster?

Thanks.

You need to wedge your fingers into the thin slot where the CD's are inserted. Then, gently place your left foot on the far left air vent. Again, gently, place your right foot on the far right air vent cover. You should now be centered in the car, and sitting on the center bin storage console. Inhale deeply, and on the exhale, yank with all of your might!!

If this does note work, and I am sure your not even going to try, I am sure one of our wise owners will give you great advice.

You can also post your question on the PCA web-site. They have an area dedicated to the Boxster, and further break-out into specific areas like "audio".

Good luck!

I know other people on this forum like http://sunsetporsche.com , you can send them an email explaining what they want and they get back to you pretty quick.

HI,

The Boxster uses what are called Radio Keys to remove the Headunit from the Dash. You insert them, in the proper orientation to the left and right of the Radio and this relases the catches. As mentioned, these are pretty cheap.

Be aware, that if you are planning to do the Rear Speaker Install and buy the OEM kit, a pair of Radio Keys is included in the kit, so no need to purchase separately.

Happy Motoring!...Jim'99
