EVO Cold Air Intake

I bought the EVO Cold Air Induction. One problem, I can't get the Resonance Chamber plug to fit in the freakin hole! It seems to be slightly too big. I heated up the tube and froze the metal plug, no joy. I lubed both pieces with soapy water also, no joy. Any suggestions??

have you tried 'trojan fire & ice'?

If the plug won't go, just reinstall the tube. Don't run the chance of doing permanent damage. The intake will run fine without plugging the resonance chamber.

@Jaxonalden, I think I would do more damage if I left the hole open, would essentially be putting the snorkle back on, which is kinda defeating the purpose of the new intake. And I can't wait for the new music! I also installed a new sport exhaust, this thing should sound amazing! I see you hav ehte EVO on your car, any problems putting it in??

Snorkel? That is for diving. Have you removed the snork PRIOR to installing the Cold Air Intake? I'm pretty sure it HAS to come off there!

Another option is to set it in the sun, apply WD-40 (one of its' many uses) and slide 'er in!

If that is not it, take a pic and post it….must be something peculiar.

@Homeboy981, actually the Snork was already removed and capped, which I was surprised about, thought they came from the factory with one. It looked like a stock intake tube, had the resonance chamber on it... I'll try your suggestion too. Going to hit it again tomm. Replacing the exhaust was actually 1000 times easier than this! Go figure...

you can get plastic welders on ebay for cheap ($19) that work great; worst case you can plastic weld a patch over the hole. i did something similar when prepping a cayman intake for my car. or, local auto parts stores often sell misc. packs of generic plugs.

I removed my Resonance Chamber a few months ago, cut the plastic tube square and to length, then picked up a rubber plug at Ace Hardware- although it was a nice snug fit, I used silicone and self taping screws to make sure it stays in place. It looks great and is air tight.

Cost- ~$5.00
