Just got her back from the shop -- feels like the clutch takes half the effort to depress now -- definitely got much easier to operate. Also seems that 2nd gear is a little more secure, but that could just be my imagination, I didn't drive very far.

As for the L&N IMS bearing, no noticeable difference to anything except
a) my checking account balance, and
b) my worry level about engine-failure :dance:

Oh, and they also had a 52K mile 2002 with a blown engine due to IMS failure sitting in the shop...
