Flywheel shot?

In for my IMS Bearing, and got this vid from my tech -- is the flywheel shot?
He says it shouldn't have slop in it like this, and should recenter pretty solidly, and obviously isn't.

Appreciate a quick gear-head 2nd opinion. I'm not nearly knowledgeable enough to have a perspective on this.

Thanks,
Steve

Yeah, that looks done. Basically, the test procedure is to twist the pressure plate surface of the flywheel about 15mm (measured at flywheel's edge) to both the left and the right and check to see if it returns to approximately its original position. If the flywheel cannot be twisted at all, or if the flywheel can be twisted beyond the 15mm without a noticeable increase in the spring force, then the flywheel is likely to be faulty.

Thanks JFP -- appreciate the quick response; Anytime there's a surprise that expensive I like to learn a thing or two...

They really went out of their way to document it for me without even asking and send me that video...

I would like to know if you experience any difficulty in smoothly engaging the clutch from stop or noise?

Nope, no noise or problems with the clutch -- I don't have any symptoms like that -- just the typical 2nd gear syncro issue, but that's manageable...

Thanks much for the info.

Just got her back from the shop -- feels like the clutch takes half the effort to depress now -- definitely got much easier to operate. Also seems that 2nd gear is a little more secure, but that could just be my imagination, I didn't drive very far.

As for the L&N IMS bearing, no noticeable difference to anything except
a) my checking account balance, and
b) my worry level about engine-failure

Oh, and they also had a 52K mile 2002 with a blown engine due to IMS failure sitting in the shop...
