2003 Ignition switch with wrong turn

I had to replace my ignition switch with a new on from Suncoast. Part number is 4A0905849B I put the switch in with little trouble until I tried to turn the key.
It would not budge. I then put the old switch in and the key turns as it should. Then I noticed the new part turns to the left where the old part turns to the right. Has anyone else had this issue. With the right hand turn you have no play in the switch it goes strait to resistance. Figured I would see if there was something I was missing while I wait on Suncoast to open up in the morning.

Another user had similar problems, you may have ordered the wrong part number as it has changed.

Looks like I also had my entire unit replaced at one time as I have the 849 switch as well and not 849B. Thanks for the link
