Hotwire passenger seat belt buckle?

I thought I already asked this but can't find the thread, maybe I'm just imagining it. My airbag light is on do to the passenger seat. I'd rather not buy a whole setup, is it possible just to hotwire the switch? There has to be a way

I have the same problem. I bought a new receptacle for around $80, but read somewhere that if you just clean it out (I think I heard using air works well) and reset the code you should be all good. I also read somewhere that either buckle could cause the problem so you may want to clean both. I'll be doing this tomorrow as I'm changing my battery anyway and will let you know here. Then hopefully I can sell my buckle for something on ebay.

Definitely let me know how it goes! All you need to do to reset it is unplug the battery once its fixed?

I couldn't get access to an air compressor so I tried using compressed air in a can. That did not do the trick. I'll give it a shot next weekend with a real compressor. If that doesn't work, then I'll just have to pull the seat and install the new buckle. I'll post my results here.

Finally got the time to replace the passenger seat belt buckle. Found it easiest to pull the four bolts that hold the rails to the floor.

Got it all replaced and the seat back in. Started it up and the light remained, so I disconnected the negative terminal for a minute and then reconnected it and started it back up. Light remained on. It was at this moment I realized that while my trip odometer reset, my radio required no code. So my question is, how do you reset the codes? Or more importantly, how do I get rid of that warning light without using a small piece of electrical tape? All I could find online was using the durametric (sp) software, which I do not own yet. Is there an easier way?

only a dealer scan tool or a Durametric can clear airbag faults...
