Replacing check engine light

Turns out at some point my check engine light was removed and I have several codes that need to be addressed. I'd like to put one back in but I can't find a write up on how to do it. Anyone know?

Instead of a "replacing CEL bulbs" DIY, how about "replacing instrument cluster" DIY instead?
