i'm getting approximately 21.5 mpg in the city during my commute to work if my computer is right - i'm curious what others are getting for city mileage. '03 Boxster.

Averaging 25.3 mpg. 75% of my commute is highway. I also only use Chevron 91 Octane gas. I don't think this makes a difference, but just thought I would thow it in there anyway. I also like Mexican food and long walks on the beach.

What model are you guys griving? I have a 2000 S and I get nowhere near that kind of mpg. I usually get only aroung 16. The computer says 16.4. Now, I do alot of stop&go on the highway during the commute, but would that really cause such a discrepency? Also, I have mentioned the milege to a couple of porsche shops and they said that it wasn't out of the question for city driving in an S.

Wink Never computed but happy!

Never measured but it uses 1/2 a tank a week roundtrip to work. Each way is about 12 miles thus it is 120 miles per week. I stay away from Mexican food but love Cuban food and a fixed wing! Other stat is about 360 smiles/miles. Sunny days almost facial deformation due to excessive grinning.

Rail26, 25.3 seems pretty damn good on a 987. I've been getting 19.3 in mixed driving on 91 oct, although the car showed dramatic improvement after about the 4500 mile mark.

I'm not familiar with the 986 OBC, but the 987's shows "average speed", which seems to be generally useless info, but might be indicative of driving conditions where one lives. Mine just bumped from 29 mph to 30. I'm curious, is anyone's much higher?

Yeah same here. I've never been over 20mpg either city or highway.
I get about 270 miles on a full tank. My 2000 S has 20,000 miles.

But then again I drive fast. Hey what can you do its a 3.2 Liter Porsche!

2002 Boxster S - First tank monitored - 14.9 ( I may have been using the throttle a little too much) Second tank after I calmed down a bit - 17 MPG...... I think if I were not testing the car ( I have only had it for 3 weeks now) I would get about 19.......
