Well, it looks like pretty standard universal-fit (cut and shape to fit) grille mesh, which should be available from speed shops, etc. For some reason I am finding it difficult to nail down from an online source.

I bought some years ago for my Miata and found it very easy to work with. It was made by a company called G2, and I think I purchased it from (gasp) JC Whitney.

One caveat: If the stuff you buy is anodized, you will find that sand, pebbles, etc. will quickly pit the anodization and make it look shabby. I found a nifty solution by spraying the mesh with Plasti-cote before mounting it. Plasti-cote is remarkable stuff...it stays flexible and won't chip off. After about six years of daily driving my Miata, the grille still looked perfect.

Have fun with it!

This stuff is known as "expanded metal", and is available in a huge variety of shapes and sizes. You can probably find something very similar to this at Home Depot or Lowes. If you don't see a good match, try McMaster-Carr.

Hi madmods,

in Germany we only use this aluminium mesh, but there are different qualities available. the material what we use, is a strong aluminium mesh, colored matte black and made in Germany. Measurements are 150cm x 30cm, Price in Germany: 34,90Euro incl. 19%tax without shipping costs

We only use this mesh for conversions since a long time and we made only the best expierience with this.

Believe me, thatīs the same material, it is only aluminium! We give the grilles a shape, so they become a incredible stability.

I liked the "honeycombs" from the look, which I think they fit very well with the gt2 front. But if the get broken constantly, so that makes no sense.

Madmod... I have attached a couple of links for material to look at, see if they can help you. Honestly I run stainless steel mesh on mine. No worries about pitting, no maintenance and no worries about oxides building up on them. Hope this helps some.

Cheers!

The first link will get you to a Titanium expanded mesh company: expanded metal,Titanium Expanded Metal-Anping Qinghe expanded metal factory

This has aluminum, stainless and titanium Flattened Expanded Metal, Stainless Steel Expanded Metal, Expanded Aluminum, Cold Rolled Metal
