Door speakers dont work

Hi, I just bought a 2003 Boxster in showroom condition with 15k miles. It looks and drives new. The only problem (that the $550 Porsche dealership inspection did not pick up) is that the door speakers do not work? Do you have any ideas? P.S. I bought the car in Sydney Australia and drove 900 miles along the coast to my home in Melbourne with the top down, WOW! What a car!
Thanks Syd

They are quite possibly working fine. The standard package has low frequency speakers (not quite sub woofers) in the doors. Since its low frequency, you can't really tell where it's coming from, so all of the sound appears to come from the dash speakers.

Unless of course they are not working, then don't listen to me ;^)

There are the standard fade, l/r settings that are electronically controlled. Maybe they have the fader set wrong. Grab the stereo manual, read about all the settings - there are a lot - and see if that helps.

crank up your stereo and put your hand over them, if you feel air on your palms, there working.

Speakers not working

I have tried cranking the volume up and adjusting the fade on the stereo so that directs to the door speakers, still nothing. Is there a fuse/ plug/ or separate amplifier for the doors??

I thought the door speakers were part of an option package and that the standard radio only came with dash speakers. Maybe there are no speakers there.
