OK people, here's how that sensor works.

When your top is up and latched, that sensor turns on. The microswitch in the hole where the hook goes enables it.

To make it work when the top is down, you need to buy the little red clip that is sold for a couple of bucks and used to disable the top mechanism for speedster hump owners.

I have one and always snap it in place when I must walk away from the top-down car so the interior motion detector will work.

Now San Rensho, yours might be kaput and that's why you're getting an error. But you should buy the clip or borrow one from someone and test it first before you replace it... and then I'd buy a salvage one instead of a new one. They're not known for going bad.
