Does a 2003 base boxster have a snorkel or not?

I've read different things. I'd like to desnork mine this weekend but I've read numerous times that a 2003 does not have one? Does someone know for sure? thanks much

... definitely has a snorkel.
Pull that thing out!
It sounds a lot better when you're at WOT.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

so less than 10 min later I'm officially desnorkeled ! hardest part was getting off the cover. Glad to see the inside had a mess wire over it held in by a screw so got that off and pulled the snorkel out. Will drive it tomorrow and report back on the sound !

Can someone please explain "Snorkel & De-Snorkel"? I have a '03 Boxster. I'm curious on what this does!
Thanks...

I noticed a good improvement in sound above 3,000 rpm. It is good.

Just do a search on desnorkel on this forum and you'll find all kind of good info about what it does. It definetly makes the sound louder and deeper in the higher rpms.. some claim they feel additional HP but that is debatable; I don't think I noticed any increase but the sound is much better. Real easy thing to do. I googled desnorkel and a link came up with pics step by step and I'm by no means a DIYer and I even figured it out real easy.

It will reduce your fuel economy. Not for any mechanical reason, but you'll find yourself putting your foot in it all the time to hear the howl at higher rpms

Hardest part was getting off the cover. Once you figure that out the rest is easy. Here is the link I used:
