How to remove spoiler on 2003/4 models

Hi. I owned 2003 Boxster non-S. I tried to remove the spoiler and I noticed that the spoiler is different from previous model. I do not see the 3 screws nor plastic piece. Is it completely different?

2003 removal

for '03 there aren't any tabs to punch I could find. There is a plastic piece that's painted, the only part you see when the spoiler is retracted. Squeeze this towards the rear of the car, look at it from the underside, you will see some tabs. As you squeeze it rearwards, these will clear and that plastic painted piece will pop off. Then there are two allen screws that remove the aluminum main part of the spoiler. Once that's off, retract the spoiler again to get full access to the screws you need to remove the bumber. I just did mine, WAY easier to not mess with the license plate ilghts, just remove the spoiler and before you walk away with it, uncouple it. The connector is hidden behind the bumper until it's off, right behind the ilcense plate.

Woah. You can break some tabs that way. The way it is intended to be removed is this...

Look under the rear edge of the wing and along with those tabs you will also see 4 holes. You insert a screw driver into the hole, press a plastic hook molded into the painted part away from a metal tab built into the black metal part.

If you remove an end cap by prying it gently off with a small screw driver, you can watch yourself as you release the endmost hook with a screwdriver. That will help you to understand what you're doing and how hard to press the screwdriver into the hole to release each of the 4 hooks. If you press too hard, you could break a hook.

As you release each hook, you can then more easily press the painted part backward and release the visible tabs under the rear edge of the painted part. Work your way down from one end to the other.

Hope that helps somebody keep from damaging the painted part.
