New toy-stethoscope

Got a mechanics stethoscope at advance for $10 and I started to poke around the motor. Man the scope is loud! Pretty cool. You can even hear the water rushing in the thermostat housing. Heard a very faint ticking from the passenger side cam cover, which I assume is a failing lifter but that doesn't really worry me. No ticks from the drivers side.

But i digress. My real question is what does a failing IMSB sound like? Never used a scope before. Listening to the motor case right underneath the IMSB I hear a mechanical whirring noise which sounds like other sounds coming from other parts of the bottom of the engine. If anything its more muffled than the other whirring mechanical noises the motor makes.
