heavy rain, dead boxster

hi, i hope someone can help. after heavy rain my elecs went made. alarm going off, central locking not working, horn going. car will not start now. key will not work. iv checked all fuses and they are ok. the alarm is now working but still no central locking and still the car will not start. iv got a 98 2.5 boxster.

there are many posts on this. you need to clear out all your water drains front and rear, there is most likely water getting to the alarm controlere under the drivers seat - NOT GOOD

I'm not an expert however if possible for you to let the car and electronics to dry for a week or more that'd be safe I' say. Disconnect the battery as soon as you can, don't try to start the car or play with the alarm for a while. Get that alarm box out of the car (located under the driver's seat, strange place indeed) and keep it in a dry room for a week. Best of luck mate, I feel ya remotely

had this happen to me couple months back. so much rain the drains could not keep up with it and interior cabin floor flooded. found nearly an inch of water under the seat and the immobilizer computer essentially submerged.

On U.S. cars the immobilizer computer is under the drivers seat (left).

Mine was fried and had to replace it, insurance did cover the repair, but I do have a high deductible, so I ended up paying for most of it
