17" aftermarket wheels...which and where!?

Im pretty sure im deciding to stick with 17" wheels on my '97 as i don't want any frame/suspension issues down the road...its not worth it. I am having trouble finding 17" wheels to replace my stock turbo twists. Id like a black wheel with some sort of lip. Does anyone sell something like this? Ive checked out most stores online and they carry mostly 18-19" rims. The only 17s i find are replica or oem replacement wheels. Any suggestions and help is really appreciated

Cool Proper Wheels

Have you checked Tirerack ? You made the right decision in staying with 17" wheels. Aside from maintaining your ride comfort and handling, the cost of rubber as you go higher in 18" and 19" goes considerably higher... i'm not saying that your car can accomodate 18"or 19".. it is just plain overkill to me!
my suggestion to play it safe(no issues with heavier/low quality wheels) the most economical way is to find an OEM 17" and have powder coated to whatever color you desire.
just a suggestion....
good luck on your search...

Tirerack is showingly only one model of 17" wheels that'll fit. Most aftermarket wheels start at 18" because people want to upsize.

You'll have better luck staying with OE wheels.

I prefer this style.

A guy on Rennlist has a set of HRE 17s on sale for 1000 with tires. That's smoking deal. You'll need spacers for the rears as they are NB 993 wheels.

Sure, they have some RA1s with maybe 50% life left. They fit well on the front but are stretched onto the rear.

They were free from a buddy.

Lets not hijack this guys thred.
