Electrical plug on diff?

Hi Guys,

while fixing a fire I had from a power steering line on my 986 boxster, I found this electrical connector on the diff that has nothing connected to it. Is this correct or am I missing something???

You can see the connector just a fraction above dead center in this picture:

Any suggestions?

Reverse light?

I would guess that would be up by the shifter or on the trans though? Otherwise this would only come on when you were moving in reverse, not just selected reverse?

I can test my reverse light and see if this is it anyway.

That is the reverse light switch. You can find an excellent photo of the entire harness setup on page 34-14 in the Bentley manual.

So I should have something plugged into it then yeah? Where abouts does the wire run, I'll try to track down where the wire ended.
