Cruise control not working

Hello guys..
Hope you all are having good time. Well, I am new to this forum so please be gentle. I recently purchased 2002 Boxster (986) from our local garage. Everything is working fine except this problem. For some reason tempostat not working. Light on the cluster comes on when I select it, but no effect on the ride. Is there anything I need to know before trying to fix it? BTW, I have electronic throttle.

Thanks.

Try checking the switch on the clutch and brake pedals. There is a plunger switch on each pedal that when released cancels the CC. The one on the clutch has a red housing.
