The inside has a air divider that stops the dead space as the air hit the back of the plenum body. It also has a cross flo hole to help cavitation.
Diameter is much larger
End result depend on your exhaust, and other modifications. I've used this on a 2.7 base 2003 for 2 years with good results. The big picture is the total package require exhaust and ECU changes, that could net you a nice HP increase. Down side is a nearly equal cost
