DIY shifter knob and brake lever installation

Dear Owners/Enthusiasts:

I own a 99 boxster and it comes with the ugliest black gear shifter. My interior is sienna beige and have come across some nice matching ones (beige and finished stell look) on eBay.

Just can't figure out how to install the sucker...

Please advice and thanks in advance.

PS: Same goes for the hand-brake lever.

You unsnapp the boot which is held in place by 4 plastic clips. Then just pull the shift knob off. Some cars require more force than others to pull off. Remove the center console to replace the brake lever. The brake lever is simply bolted in place. Unbolt the old and bolt in the new - and adjust the lever so that there are 5 clicks when you pull it up. Jeff
