PSM:trac off?

if I hold the trac off button down untill the trac off light comes on then turns off again, is the PSM totally disabled?

when I do this the trac off light is not on at all, and will not come on when I hit the button again until I turn the ignition off and restart the car.

I'm not sure since I did not want PSM on my Boxster but the Owners Manual is the best source for this info.
