Anyone have an ECU Instant Boost?

Has anyone got an ecu sprint booster from here:

http://www.lltek.com/porschtek/sprintboost_plus_porsche.htm

Or from somewhere else perhaps and what your thoughts are on them?

Cheers

Go to:

http://forums.rennlist.com/

Go into the sub directory 'Boxster and Boxster S (986)'

Go up in the right corner and by FORUM TOOLS, click SEARCH THIS FORUM...

Type in 'Jwade' in the box and it will take you to my complete installation and review.

I thought these were total bull**************** until I guinea pigged one for the company who sells them. I was the first to ever install one on a 986 so they gave me a pretty good deal on the device, but I had to provide the installation picts and honest review of their product.

Please take a look....and seriously, I thought it was pure snake oil until I installed it and drove it a day or so. Pretty nice difference associated with throttle response and it takes a few days to get used to it.

This is NOT designed to add hp or increase 0-60 times....It's purpose is to increase signal on e-gas cars and when completed, allows a higher degree of throttle response.

I am in agreement with jwade's review.

I also got one to try out just for fun and it did improve the driving experience. Throttle response was much quicker and in my opinion improved the enjoyment factor while driving, as the car used to feel a little sluggish or slow to respond to accelerator movement.

It will not increase hp, 0-60 or track times, but it will increase the enjoyment of daily driving. The car "feels" faster off the line.

Just my $.02

It SB makes the car feel like it is accelerating faster, but in actuality, it is just a better throttle response.

One thing they do have is a 30 money back guarantee. That's one of the reasons I played the guniea pig...

If you have a little cash to burn, try it.

Tell me if I am wrong, but it looks to me like this device effectively "shortens" the accelerator pedal.

Of course power will not change, any effect on acceleration would me measured in thousandths of seconds, as the only time saved is pushing that last inch of throttle, but I can understand how the car could "feel" more powerful. If it was not so expensive for a zero benefit (ie no power increase) mod then I would buy one. Could also be a good little trick for anyone wanting to sell their car.

I installed mine last night (got it from sprintboost.ca) and I did find an improvement in the throttle response. It is similar to the econo/sport switches some vehicles have. The sprint boost I have has a three mode switch and I noticed a diffence in all three modes. It does make the car more responsive where in the past there was a bit of hesitation. I also found the tip downshifted much earlier and faster than in the past. My grin is larger than in the past!!!

To ME ... it was worth it!

Only issue I have is the double sided tape the provided to hold the switch ... holds for 5 minutes or 5 feet.
