Knock sensor locations?

Hi guys,

Can someone direct me to where the two knock sensors or on a 2.5 986? Or just as good, which wires they are at the DME?

Cheers!
Sam

Sparker:

Knock sensor 1 is located on the top of the engine directly on top of the crankcase near cylinder #2. If you remove the access panel on the rear firewall behind the seats, looking from the front of the engine, it will be located behind the alternator. Start with the leftmost of the two small pulleys that are to the left of the alternator and draw a line from the left edge of that round black pulley and go straight up to the horizontal plane on top of the engine, but only a few inches above that pulley...it will be immediately to the left of that line.

Knock sensor 2 is located on the same plane on the top of the engine on the right side on top of the crankcase near cylinder #5.

They each have an electrical connector and one mounting bolt holding each one down.

Regards, Maurice.

Just out of curiousity (and because it would save me a bit of work....) no-one would happen to know the pin out at the ecu of these sensors or the wire colours?

I just need to tap into the signal, not actually get to the sensors them selves.
