Boxster makes a strange ratcheting noise

I reciently purchased a 98 boxster with the 2.5 liter engine and am hearing a strange ratcheting noise after start up that continues for about a second if car is cold. After car is warm you may not here this at all (depending on how long the car has been sitting. I have no ideas on this one other than maybe timing chain tensioner. Any help would be deeply appreciated Thanx

A sound clip would be helpful. Boxsters do rattle for a second or so after startup (at least mine does!).

Try searching for startup noise or other permutations here... I'm pretty sure I saw a thread about this recently.
