Stupid questions

Im sure every one will laugh when they read this and think what kind of Porsche fanatic is this, but I want to swap my 2.5l with a 3.4. I know the 996 was 99-05 or something close to it. What I don't know is exactly what year was the 3.4 made and how it differs from a 3.2. I did a search on rebuild kits cause im trying to find the most cost effective way on doing this but I could only find kits for the 3.2. What do you guys think.

April 2010 Excellence magazine has a story of a 99 Boxster swapping its 2.5 to 3.4 engine. You might want to check out that story. I did not read the whole story... but skimmed it and from what I understand, the owner put in a used 996 engine in it.

there have been several discussions regarding engine swaps like this on this forum, another very good Porsche resource forum is renntech.org (http://www.renntech.org/forums), sign up there and poke around their boxster sections

That figures, the only issue I missed has exactly what I need. What should a rebuild kit include. I don't have the net at my house just yet so I can only use it at work when im not busy..which is never. So for now this is my only resource for quick information. I have this whole vision in mind..me working on this 911 engine in my bedroom lol. Also, is it possible to put the 3.4T in the 2.5 Boxster? Or is that talking like a complete reformat of the whole car.
