Unhappy Drivers Window Issue

Hi All Boxster owners,

Need some help regarding my drivers window. I've just heard a crack and now my drivers window is not moving up and down. Im having to pull it up myself (or push it down).

Im guessing it might be the motor or worse, maybe the regulator which if needing replaced, can cost around £120.

Any help is much appreciated

Thanks

Regulators are a notorious problem. Search the site. Lots of threads about this.

Boxster window regulators go out a lot because we're constantly raising and lowering them with top use.

You can remove the door panel, unhook the regulator, and then operate the window to see if the motor functions and narrow it down.

I've yet to do any repair on my car that costs me less than $150 USD, so your part cost is right in line with what we pay on this side of the world. These cars are not cheap to own long-term, that's for sure.

I've replaced the regulator and the door lock assembly on the passenger side already.

thanks alot guys, I have got a total quote including labour for £220 for the regulator. However, I have also been informed that a "membrain" or something needs replacing too once the panel is stripped off. Costing an extra £36 for this part.

Anybody have some thoughts on the costs before I decided to go ahead

Much appreciated again folks,

Thanks

Garage
The membrane is the plastic sheeting that keeps the rain out of the interior of the car as it washes down the window. I say it is worth it unless you want to do it yourself. I have done many different marques window regulators, they are all pretty much the same, not difficult just nerve racking if you have not done it before.
