It depends.... what does the sticker on your amp say?

If 4x40 - the brown plug should be connected to the back of your head unit

If 6x40 - the wires coming from the female side of your brown plug should go to the amp.

No sound to the rear speakers would have to do w/:
- the disconnected wires for the brown plug (if 6x40 amp)

or

- the brown plug not being connected to back of h/u (if 4x40 amp)

If 6x40 amp, we need to know which part # to correctly assign the pins. If from a 996 (the first three digits of p/n will be 996) then they should be inserted into pin locations 5, 15, 6, 16 on the plug (use a magnifying glass to see them molded into plug). If it's from a 986, it's 4 different pin #s.

I'll check out the amp tommorow and find. I think these have to go to this amp in the frunk. The wiring is factory, it hasn't been tampered with.

Thanks for the help

Thanks Burg. You know your Boxster's.

We plugged up the rear speakers today. a few times the Amp or radio stopped working. but resumed after turning off the car for 10 min. not sure what that was about. rear speakers working fine now.

I went the lazy route took an old speaker, used it to find which pins putting out sound.

THANKS
