ask either one of them if they plan on refunding your money if it does not live up to thier stated HP Gains.

Let them pick the dyno, tell them you will run pulls prior and after install + 200 miles.

If it does not give you the gains they say, they should refund your cash.

In my humble optinion, I thnk what people are feeling after installing the ECU upgrades is the increase in responsiveness of the throttle and the increased redline.

If you dont have the intake and exhaust mods prior you will not be happy with your purchase.

heck a smaller underdrive pulley has been proven @10-12 HP increase and it is only 200$.

The ECU tune "promises" about the same for 800-1200$.

You should go back and read the posts regarding FVD's ecu program. A few months back
many of us took advantage of a special promotion, whereby FVD was offering their ecu software at half price to members. The unique thing about their software, is that it is custom tailored for each client taking into account the specific modifications that have been made to their vehicle. By doing so, this approach to ecu programing serves to maximize gains by safely "squeezing" every bit of power out the 986 engine. I can say first hand, that after the ecu upgrade I experienced a significant improvement in throttle response and power across the whole rpm range. However, JHandy makes a good point by suggesting that one should make all of the performance mod's they intend to prior to re-mapping the ecu.

thanks for your response.

i have spent considerable time and read those posts as well as those on other forums.

both companies tailor the program to the specific vehicle and its modifications. both claim about the same increase in torque and power. they both raise the redline a bit and increase throttle response. they both allow the durametric software for addressing CEL codes.

love to do the dyno test. would need to locate a facility nearby to get that done but car is stored until spring and am planning on changes (headers, ecu) while its hibernating.

just trying to find someone who has driven, tested or worked with cars with both their ecu's.
