You know, you got me too Jaay. I was wondering the same thing when I saw that FVD sells a flash for the 3.4 conversion at a much higher price. As far as your car is concerned, how does it really know whether that 3.4L is in a 996 or 986? I'm sure the exhaust and intake are both slightly different as far as flows, but if the conversion is done right there really should not be a significant difference. You should be able to run just fine with an OEM 996 3.4L reflash. Is that what you're running now? If you want more power from something like a FVD reflash, I wouldn't see why a standard 996 3.4L reflash wouldn't work and what the difference would be between that and a 986 3.4L conversion reflash.

If the FVD sales rep can't answer that question, then I would ask them who can? Get the name of someone at FVD who can answer your question in the detail that you need. It's DEFINITELY a question worth asking!

Todd Holyoak is probably your best source for info on DME software to get the most out of your 3.4 Boxster. He just "gets it".

For a custom dyno tune, Farnbacher Loles are some of the most experienced Porsche race tuners and are not too far away from you.

Send a message via MSN to CJ_Boxster
I'd hook up the water lines that run into the Oil Sep., I have a feeling it might help.
