Pulled the trigger on the Softronic deal although I don't think I would have gone wrong going with FVD. Just liked the fact that Softronic was in the US and I read on one of the boards the Scott was working with Flat6 on something (can't find the post or remember what the heck it was about!!). I'll post my my thoughts when I get the software.

I uploaded my new FVD ecu software earlier today. Within the first few miles I could discern a marked improvement in my vehicle's throttle response, as well as an altogether more linear power band. I would encourage any forum member who is interested in improving their vehicle's performance with better software to "jump" on this great opportunity. Thanks FVD.

If only there was an emoticon with a bigger smile to assimilate our faces. The increase to 7.2k on the RPM band is phenominal!

I really can't say enough good things about the customer service that I received from Rhonda and Florian during the process. I called one evening at closing time and Rhonda was kind enough to answer my call and continued to talk with me and eventually take my order. The software/cable was shipped out promptly and arrived within 2 days. I pulled the existing software from my car on a Monday evening and the following morning I had an updated file to upload to my car. I just installed the software this evening (without a single hiccup) and went for a test drive and of all the power mods (cold air intake, plenum, full exhaust, underdrive pulley) this is the only one that I actually believe I can feel a difference in the ol' butt dyno. I felt that my car (02' Boxster S) had very good throttle response ever since I put the cold air intake on but now the car wants to JUMP off the line and start running through the RPM's! I wonder if this was the final piece that brought all of my modifications together?

It was an absolute pleasure working with FVD and I am extremely satisfied with their service and product.

In my experience it was the missing piece to the puzzle and glued it all (modifications) together harmoniously. To Sammy and Johnny, I am highly interested in seeing the gains from your vehicle and am intersted in seeing if dynoing your vehicles ever came to thought? If so, it would certainly be an item worth seeing.

I am highly interested in seeing the gains as well but won't be putting the car on the dyno until maybe next spring. I'm tied up with work and grad school which has limited my play time and I am getting ready to put the car away for the winter.

I did a bit of digging on FVD's site (only a bit), and am yet again reminded of the fact that the MY 97 Boxsters occasionally make themselves difficult. Am I right in my understanding that I won't be able to have my car flash tuned in the way that people are doing by sending a file to the company? It says that I'd have to actually send them my DME to have the re-mapping done. True?
