PSE and Fabspeed catbypass pipes sound
Hi Folks,
Does anyone know of a sound clip of a base Boxster with a PSE and Fabspeed catbypass pipes set-up? I have an '01 with the PSE and would like to hear the exhaust sound before committing to the expense of $495 for the pipes.
I searched the forum and YouTube and could not find a clip.
Let me know if you get a chance...
Many thanks in advance!

I don't have a PSE, but a similarly modified factory muffler with Fabspeed bypass pipes. The exhaust has a nice deep throaty voice to it and really screams when hitting midrange, from about 3800 rpm on. I get compliments all the time when other Porsche owners hear my car for the first time. The car sounded very nice with just the modded muffler, but the bypass pipes really opened up the orchestra.
Perhaps I'll get motivated and produce a sound clip video one of these days.

Here you go.
I was using my samsung camera for the video. Not bad, but the car gets loud at high revs and I may do it again a little further back due to the volume recording on the camera.

You are welcome....They are worth the price of admission. Add a BMC filter too when you do this mod. Fabspeed sells them.

do you think you gain any power from the secondary bypass pipes or just a different sound?

Yes on both. Fabspeed says is gains 8hp. Sound is alot better.

I dyno'd before and after on a 3.2L and got between 5-8hp.

is there any difference betgween the fabspeed bypass pipes and hte maxspeed ones?
the maxspeed website is asking $550 for their catless midpipes.... same as fabspeeds..and if fabspeeds are only 500 then it's a better deal....
these things easy to put in or a PITA??

I have the Oettle modified exhaust with bypass pipes (as I stated earlier). It is similar to the Pedro mod and has a deeper sound than the PSE jwade was kind enough to post.
FWIW, my Box S sounds closer to the car in this video produced by Oettle, though it's really not as loud in person:
