If you like the character of the stock muffler, I would try to find a used stock OEM 2003/4 muffler. They have a nicer growl down low than the pre-03 ones, and have no droning issues.

I feel stupid, my weight comparison was with the stock cats also.
The Stebro muffler alone is something like 14-16lbs.
