boxster 220 radio/amp. and rear spkrs

All: want to run rear speakers thru the stock nokia amp. in my 2002 boxster S. --1.

Can the stock 220 radio accomodate(plug in) another nokia amp?2. if not, how many rear speakers can I add to the stock amp. before I affect sound performance or damage the amp.? Thanks for any replies. cabjose

The CDR220 has a built in amplifier. I believe it's 18w/channel for 2 fronts and 2 rears. The brown harness that you can get from becker (and usually comes stock with the rear speaker kit) is wired for 4 out of 8 pins for the rear speakers. Technically you can wire the remaining 4 pins for another set of speakers - these were intended for the fronts. So, I guess if you have an existing amplifier, you can add two sets of speakers wired directly to the CDR220. I am sure others will chime in to verify or rebuke. Good luck.
