How many miles do you have - is it possible that it's the brake pad sensors telling you that you need new pads? Does it only occur when rolling? Tell us more about the symptom.

no not only when rolling, with ignition. now someone suggested it might be the fuel pump. whenever i turn the key on, a thin high pitched noise comes from the front, from behind the front wheels!
