noise from front

hi, i went for a spin with my 986 the other day and on returning home i noticed a high pitched noise coming from near the front wheels. at first i thought its the fans but the fans werent even on. its constant with the ignition. could anyone tell me what it could be please?

How many miles do you have - is it possible that it's the brake pad sensors telling you that you need new pads? Does it only occur when rolling? Tell us more about the symptom.

no not only when rolling, with ignition. now someone suggested it might be the fuel pump. whenever i turn the key on, a thin high pitched noise comes from the front, from behind the front wheels!
