Very nice, but the cab resonance will probably annoy you in the end (unless they changed their internal design). Hope you enjoy it!

Nice job! I applaud you for tackling the project yourself. Did you hit any major snags during the installation or was it pretty smooth? Did you consider a full system with headers?

Looks great man!! Feels good to have done it yourself too.
Noticed you are from KY, but you go to school in Ktown. You at UTK?
Please tell me you don't park that Porsche on campus.... Jon

I think people on here obsess way too much about cab resonance. I'm not even sure if some of you even understand the definition of it. Your always going to be able to hear more exhaust notes through the cabin when you put on an aftermarket exhaust. That is why you bought it in the first place. Anyway, there is no drone from this exhaust. It sounds great and is perfect when you are cruising.
Overall, the installation was a PITA! The easiest thing was removing the bumper and spoiler. It was just one little thing after another. There is not one set of bolts or nuts that are the same size. The largest snag was the tack welded flange bolts that connected the headers to the secondary cats. Absolutely ridiculous! Thank God for Milwaukee's Sawzall! I say this is my last mod, but probably not. I did not get headers because I'm not ready to get a tune and lose the warranty. Headers may be in the future though.
I am a student at UT, but the Boxster stays home in the garage. I drive my FX35 to campus...
After all is said and done, I am very pleased with my new exhaust.

Not to hack your thread or anything but I think the 00'+ 3.2L engines and aftermarket exhaust set up take differently then the 97' 2.5L engines do with an aftermarket exhaust.
I remember the Top Speed exhaust annoying me a couple of time on my 99' 2.5L. Never had it happen once with my 01' 3.2L,same exact exhaust was swapped from car-to-car.

You didn't mention performance improvements! The sound is nice, but can you feel a difference?
How will it perform at emissions testing????
I had an FX just like yours (an '04) including color. sold it to get the Boxster. Did you mod the plenum on the 3.5? Nice improvement.

Performance improvements....I'm sure there are some, but I doubt they will be unleashed until I get headers and a tune. I can't really tell...I did it all for the sound. I'm sure emissions testing wouldn't be a problem, but I don't care, because I don't have to worry about it.
No performance upgrades to the FX, nothing really excites me that much...when I can spend the money elsewhere. Maybe I should look into it though....
BTW, My FX is liquid copper...
