Arrow 02 Sensors - Porsche vs. OEM vs. Replacement

All you mechanics, speak up please. As you know, 02 Sensors are priced all over the map. From $25 to $225. What's odd, is that the $25 eBay replacement Sensors look identical to the original Porsche Sensors. Now yes, there was the splicing wires issue, but I'm wondering if these cheap Sensors are really all that bad? Meaning, are they as bad as the ultra low $25 makes them feel like they might be? They looked identical when I removed the originals. I only replaced two thus far, but am fearing the "you get what you pay for" syndrome. Any advice?

here are the $25 cheap eBay Sensors:

cheap 02 sensors

I can tell the the cheap 02 sensors and Porsches DO NOT MIX.

I tried twice.

First the $25 wire-your-own versions - JUNK! Chased codes forever. Porsched mechanic laughed that I even tried them. Good news is I received 100% refund.

Next up, the $79 OEM with matching connectors, these also online where "WE BEAT ANYONE'S PRICE" so they lowered their $109 down to $79. Well, JUNK AS WELL! Again, Porsche mechanic laughed. Again, good news, received a full refund.

Finally, the Bosche sensors worked perfect @ $129 ea.

A whole lotta messing around for nothing -- other than I can change 4 sensors in under 15 minutes now. God knows I've had the practice!

Porsche doesn't make the O2 sensors

Just buys from Bosch, stamps a part number on them, puts them in a box and marks them up. Then the dealer marks them up.

So it only makes sense to use the same part Porsche uses where you can find the exact match.

And if you want the least amount of hassle, you buy the Bosch version with the pigtail already attached. That way there is little risk and the change out takes 20 minutes, 5 once the car is in the air.

What I've been able to find

And yes I used Bosch...no problems.

Great, that is very helpful. One question though. I am looking for a set for my 97 as well as a set for a 98 2.5 liter. There looks to be only 1 OE type from Bosch (before catalyst). Will I be ordering 4 of these per car? Why are there universal ones from Bosch for after the catalyst as well?

Thank in advance
