Recaro or Sparco seats, where can I try them before I buy them?
Anyone know of any Recaro or Sparco dealers in the NY, NJ, CT area where I can see and sit in the seats before I buy them?

I believe Stable Energies in Garfield NJ has some Recaros and Kirkeys on their floor.
PAR Trading (westchester??) sells Recaros.
Might try the manufacturer website for dealers and make some calls. Lots of nice shops in the NYC area (Farnbacher-Loles, Rick Deman, Hairy Dog Garage, Formula motorsports etc). Might try the NNJR PCA, Metro NY PCA and CVR PCA websites for forums/shop suggestions as well.

I know of a place in Copiague that services Porsches, and sells race equipment. The name slipped my mind, but I'll find out. BTW, car still in the bodyshop, so Sunday is a no go.

Might also check the "ricer" crowd since these guys often change out seats.. may be able to point you two a few shops for you to sit in some. Or, come out to a PCA AX event... might find some folks with race seats installed that would let you sit in them too.

I like the seat too but you have to becareful that they are well construted. Very strong so that "if" you're ever in a bad accident they don't crush like an aluminum beer can. That's why I'm looking a well known brands like Recaro & Sparco that are safety rated.

Thanks St Criox, I didn't know they had a parts showroom or sold parts. I thought they just did custom work. Actually, I never realized they were here on L.I. until only a couple of months ago. I only catch the show once in a while.

Actually, Will Castro is a friend of mine. His shop IS only for high end customizations, and he does not have any seats in the showroom. Mainly, his interior guy, Buju, reupholsters your stock seats. His teams work is insane, and yes, the way you see him in the show is how he really is. he does have stereo components, and big ass chrome wheels for escalades and hummers in the showroom, but thats about it.

It was a shot...not sure what they stocked. I actually almost worked for him in the late 80's and 90's..when I was big in car audio....looks like he is doing well. I ended up in Hunt Station doing installs on Jericho Tpk. What a road that is..or was. I neded to get back out and see the old romping grounds. Happy seat hunting.

I've heard from alot of people on RX7club that these seats are TINY! You'll expect a bucket seat to be snug but i've heard these ones are especially small. The only way to check if you enjoy the seat is to sit in them.
I've sat in alot of sparco's that i thought looked great but felt horrible; not supportive, not comfy, the only thing going for them is "the look".

buddy club is more JDM.
every seat will have skinny driver models, but most will also have wider versions.
for example, bride seats, also a JDM seat are really skinny, as their core demo and population is really skinny. but they have wider models.
