I just had a local Porsche shop put in the exhaust and headers from Maxspeed-Motorsports. I am picking it up tonight and will let you know. The EVO intake is going in this weekend.

Please let me know what differences you experience (ie noise, more power, etc...) Looks like you went with the entire system.

I put a Billy Boat exhuast on my 1999 2.5L last year. The first time my wife road it in it after it was installed she said "Sounds like you need a new muffler". It"s loud but cool. Makes the car sound a hell of a lot faster than it is and sounds great at the track. I 'd recommend it to anyone. Seems to be a little quicker than it was.

I finally have the Maxspeed headers and exhaust installed. It sure is loud especially at 2500 rpm. I don't mind it though as I try not to leave it there. For not having a ton of money to throw at it I am quite happy. There are others with this same setup here too.

Do you think it added some power or just a louder sound? Also, how much did it set you back for parts and installation? Thx, Jon

The headers are what added the power, the exhaust maybe a little. The resonance is right up there. After the EVO install the intake is very aggressive sounding too and actually helped cut some of the muffler resonance a tiny bit (noticed it right away).

The Maxspeed muffler is going to give you a resonance sound like some of the more expensive mufflers so it is a good way to see if you can tolerate it without breaking the bank. However, I spent a lot on having Musante Motorsports put it back together because I ran into sheered off bolts in the block, broken taps and some other nightmare problems. They ended up putting studs into the block, attached the headers, fixed up the reset of the exhaust and put the car back together. After all was said and done it set me back $1300. Those guys build Porsche race cars so I didn't mind spending money with them. Great folks.
