Some years ago I installed a set of NGKs in the 911SC I had at the time. I later took the car in to an independant Porsche shop for a major maintenance, and got my butt chewed by the mechanic for putting NGKs in it.
Funny thing was, a year later they were installing NGKs themselves.
Go figure.
