After sitting in a ZO6 my car is not for sale now what?

After Daivd_J giving me enough trouble, I ran across a set of 17" boxster wheels with tires on CL perfect to beat up on. Now all my money is going into suspension bits like; coilovers, (che's)front and rear track arms and rear toe bar to firm up my ride. I may also be looking into a set of front and rear sway bars(need help with) for the Boxster. I hope to be part of many autoX and track days next year. In short, I I have made the choice to make this the best handeling and maybe the fastest boxster in the country.

What next to make it faster (straight line)you ask....Cams and cat by-pass pipes and alot of front end CF body parts! sooner or later when the money tree I planted starts to grow in the back yard.

I could use help on the sway bars recomendation along with any others if you have any.

Long live the Boxster

It just did not feel right when I sat in it. I do not know it was to big or you sit to deep in it or....... call me crazy but my boxster just feels more like a drivers car.

At my goal of 400+ crank HP I will be able to hang with what ever I want on the highway and kill it in the turns! Jst the way the Boxster should be!

agh!!!!

What a night and what a morning! I've had to evacuate my home and pack the important stuff minus my Porsche!!!!!

Im in north San Diego county... and currently at work. It was at first, a pre-cautionary thing.. but they did eventually evacuate Poway. SOB... I haven't slept and just waiting.

Most importantly, my family is safe and are with me currently. Just needed to vent. Hope the house survives ( and my car ) . Good luck to anyone in socal affected .

go with a 3.4 bore it out and maybe some forced induction should get you to 400 crank hp.

Keep us up to date on any mods you do I would love a 400 crank Boxster.

Gary with the set of Cams and the advanced tunning along with the cat bypass pipes I will get 400 at the crank even if I do have to add the IC. IA has not yet released their IC kit but I am sure I can find someone that will do it. If I do not I can always add the lightweight flywheel. I am always thinking about building a 4.1 though.

Patrick
I hope you and your family stay safe things can be replaced people can not.

the guy I know doing a lot of the work up here is someone that has been working on Porsche cup car teams for a while and may now move into the Fcar world. I hope to do some out of the world things to this car soon starting with the cat by-pass next week. The suspension will go in next month or in Jan, no real rush to drive this ar in Seattle in the winter. We have a lot of room to build this thing into a track beast. :troll:

I am interested in the cat by pass myself.

Could you dyno the car to get a base line and an after dyno.
I am also interested in any sound difference.

I know that opening the cats will allow more air flow hence more power but I would like to know how much power.

What is your plan for the CEL??

Gary

For the cams you can call FVD in FL and talk to Evan. If IRCthe company is Schrick???

My Cats are fed up now from me not alowing the car to run for a min before shutting down like you should with any FI car. I will dyno my car after if you want as for before, the dyno sheet from IA should work. My mech. said he will fab these up and run them in an open air set up to eliminate the chance of CEL.

Gary, opening just the secondary cats alone isn't going to give you any more noticeable power. It will enhance the sound though. Gives it a deeper tone. The secondary bypass will not cause a CEL. Even with both sets of cats off I only had one CEL in about a 1,000 miles of driving.

JP, I wish I could join you guys Sunday morning. Sounds like a great day. Have been wanting to see your car.
