Engine Question from New Owner

I checked out my engine for the first time this past weekend (2007-987) and noticed two hoses (7/8") in diameter that run across the top of the engine. from front to back Just wondering (curious) what these are for? Heater hoses? Thanks

Could you post a pic?? It could be the shifter cables you are referring to.

If they run across the top of the engine and go through the firewall, that's probably the shift linkage and parking brake covers.
