That 8 hp increase in 03 came from a switch from a stepped-style variable valve timing to a continuous variable valve timing, so the torque characteristics of the engine improved somewhat over the entire rev range. I'd think that might be useful, depending on the racing/driving that you're doing.
The 00/01/02 cars with 17" wheels were the lightest.
